Maintain Your Hair While Taking drugs to prevent recurrence of Breast Cancer Very often, after being treated for breast cancer, patients will be given anti-estrogenic drugs, which have the unfortunate side effect of causing women to continue to loss their hair. These drugs, either selective estrogen receptor modulators like Tamoxifen, or Aromatase Inhibitors like Arimidex and Femara, block the effects of and/or the production of estrogen, often causing hormonal hair loss in women. This leads to three separate problems for women after their initial cancer treatment:

Two Phases For patients with pre-existing hair loss or those taking anti-estrogenic drugs, treatment would be in two phases. First these patients would use Dr. Lewenberg’s Formula 4 times per day to regrow hair. Each application should take less than a minute and will not make your hair wet as it is applied as a hair spray. Depending on the extent of hair loss and damage to the hair follicles from the initial cancer treatment, full regrowth can take three months to over a year.
